This is the first of my new 'Book of the Month' postings. Each month i'll post a must have book from the gort archives.
Nature Form and Spirit: The Life and Legacy of George Nakashima written by Mira Nakashima it is an excellent catalog of work and describes the evolution of their woodworking business and various furniture lines up to the present. There are many large colour pictures of furniture, closeups showing different joinery details and shots of the Nakashima compound, including some interesting ones of George in his wood shed - sort of a morgue of giant trees. This book pretty much sums up what I want to accomplish as a woodworker, clean lines, traditional joinery and beautiful wood.
